My Writing Plans for October and NaNoWriMo in November

I have decided to be a Preptober and a NaNoWriMo rebel for the first time.

In previous years I would plan a new story during October, and sometimes during September, to be draft in November for NaNoWriMo. This year I'm going to do something completely different.

I've been drafting Millie's book for the majority of 2021 and it is still my goal to have the first draft finished by the end of the year. But I also have a story that's been screaming inside of my head and heart to be written. I have slowly been brainstorming and plotting it during the summer and I have decided to commit to it.

Instead of prepping and planning during the month of October and drafting during the month of November, I will be drafting throughout both months. I want to have the first draft done by December 1st and then I can revise it. I will love to have it ready for some mentorship programs for next year but I don't want to really think of that nor set it as a solid deadline to avoid overwhelmed myself.

The goal is the first draft of this story that has been plaguing me. The deadline is December 1st.

What I'm planning to hold myself accountable and to reach my goal?

Well besides participating in this year's NaNoWriMo (which I may or may not do the 50k in 30 days challenge since it depends where in the draft I will find myself on November 1), I will be doing weekly vlogs on my youtube channel. A new weekly vlog will be up every Monday from October 4th until November 29th documenting my progress and my struggles.

I will also have complimentary posts on my Instagram, Facebook page, and Twitter ( still debating if I'm going to tackle TikTok) whenever a video is up. As for this blog, I will keep the Saturday updates and at least for the next two months, it would be focusing on writing.

This will also start my newsletter. It would only be twice per quarter; one at the beginning and what at the end. I will talk about my work in progress(es), my author career goals, some of my online business goals, and a little of my personal goals so if you find yourself intrigued about this or any other writing project I have mentioned and maybe you are curious about the other aspects of my life I will recommend joining my newsletter, but no real pressure.

I'm going full steam into my writing career goals. I hope you come along for the ride.

Let me know in the comments if you are doing Planoctober and/or NaNoWriMo.
